CWN ALERT: Sallie Mae Misrepresenting Status of Student Loan

consumerwarningnet asked:

http://consumerwarningnetwork.com has the details: Instead of helping people achieve their dreams of using education to better their lives, Sallie Mae, America’s largest college student loan corporation, is apparently doing what it can to destroy those dreams through misrepresentation and manipulation. Students are seeing their FICO scores drop as much as 130 points when recent credit reports are pulled.

    it’s a no-brainer

  3. danieljval Says:

awesome, i was thinking about joining the peace corps…its so funny you say that, ha!

  4. randompal Says:

if you have looming student loans here is your solution: register for Peace Corps service thereby deferring your student loan, then after your 2 year term is up, simply re register for another tour of duty. Keep deferring until you find a nice warm country to disappear to…

DO NOT GET A LOAN FROM SALLIE MAE! Their interest rates are crazy and their repayment plans are crazy! I had to seek legal advise to see what my options are. I was advised that they should be penalized for their actions! $500 per violation! I have it all on tape!

  6. imajica77 Says:

thank god I live in Australia – I finished with a B.A. (hons) Dip. Ed PhD – a 7 year doctorate degree and all it cost me was $17,000 – the interest rate is only 3% a year – and we have free healthcare – The U.S. has got it all wrong – it should help its citizens

  7. DJAnihilist Says:

You should personally explain, with precision, the dense jargon in the majority of those documents that most 18 year olds are not familiar with.

  8. anooseholay Says:

As bad as these predatory student loan companies are how come no one is screaming about the ridiculous cost of the education in the first place. The problem isn’t the loan sharks, it’s the colleges and universities that are charging so much for education. Stop fixing the wrong problem people, or at least start fixing the bigger of two evils first.

  9. joeyprerunner Says:

They are ruining me, and soooo many other people. It is sad that we did everything we were told all our lives to achieve the “American dream” and now they are robbing us. They want $2000 a month from me, after paying interest over the life of my loan, I will have payed a grand total of $450,000 on a $120,000 loan. They are loan sharks. Private student loan lending is known as the Wild West of lending now, and it fits so good.

    F__K sallie mae

  11. Blueshark1982 Says:

I feel like Sallie Mae are trying to hurt America.

  12. barbcinque Says:

I mean honestly we took out loans in order to become productive parts of society. How is that if I had spent tens of thousands to buy material crap I could file for bankruptcy or offer a settlement. The only debt I have is student loans and its ruined my credit and they even tracked me down at the hospital where I was very ill for several months and harrassed me. Rude and nast, predatory and disgusting. Where is democracy and freedom?

  13. barbcinque Says:

I just got off the phone with sallie mother*&%$% and I had a hell of a time trying to get the amount of interest I owe over the principal. They are rude and nasty and refuse to negotiate anything. My loan is for 40 grand and to date I owe 85grand and counting. Why are there no organized students fighting this sort of corruption? I am a teacher and do not make enough money to pay back the interest heavy loans I have.

  14. blackout513 Says:

    only a million lol.

  15. mavarek2u Says:

maybe you should read the promisery note before you took out loan.

  16. zethris Says:

How about you get your facts right. You perpetuate a company that is hurting thousands of people. You are nothing more than a obsequious little worm from your association by it. That is your character in a nutshell. So, you can shill and troll all you want, you work for and are part of a company that is part of the larger machine that is killing America. You, are the real terrorists.

  17. spez1989 Says:

I took out a 22,000 dollar loan by the time i finish paying back that loan the intest on that 22,000 dollar loan will be 86,000 dollars and they didn’t tell me that until after i signed the promisory note then they added a 6 percent supplemental intrest fee after i signed the promisory note it was 8.5% then they added 6% they are charging a student 14% intrest for school. **** Sallie they do not care about students they just want to manipulate them and collect on the students mistakes.

  18. lividmany Says:

Get your facts straight: we repaid a number of these loans and Sallie Mae sent us a new payment book with the remaining loans listed at a new, higher interest rate. SALLIE MAE IS SIMPLY ANOTHER JEWISH RUN GANGSTER CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION TO PREY UPON UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE…

  19. JoM80 Says:

Get your facts right. Sallie Mae did not report delinquency to Credit Bureau intentionally. It was due to erroneous coding by someone who works at Sallie Mae. By the way I work there and this has been almost immediately fixed. Everyone makes errors.

  20. potemkinworld Says:

Sallie Mae! You should be Ashamed

  21. jhnsvideo Says:

Unbelievable! Talk about kicking the kids while they’re down…
